narrative of Darlene Clark Hine, William C. Hine and Stanley Harrold in A Concise History: African Americans. The Souls of Black Folks serves as a primary source from this period where W. E. B. Du Bois presents socioeconomic data collected from African Americans to present scientific research of the living conditions of black in American from this time period. Through this analysis Du Bois determined that “the problem of the Twentieth Century [was] the problem of the color line.â€[1]
How does the Du Bois’ narrative expand, validated or contradict the African American history presented by Hine, Hine, and Harrold. Compare and contrast scenarios in The Souls of Black Folks to the historical events emphasized in A Concise History: African Americans. In a three page paper show three intersections of historical events that connect from both narratives. Explain why these examples relate. Are these examples validated by the primary source, further expanded, or are they contradicted by this evidence.
