In past, the cosmetic formulas promised eternal youth due to their ability to shield people from the sun. Additionally, they served as class indication and beauty conventions. Earlier, the bath oil, for instance, was prepared by combining ingredients in a glass beaker, and it was stirred to make a homogenous solution. Later, it was modified by adding fragrances and preservatives. Face cream was another common cosmetic product adored in Europe and America. In its preparation, distilled water, emulsifiers, emollients, and thickeners were mixed with active ingredients and fragrances. The cosmetics made eternal youth inevitable since people had access to all beauty products required to enhance their beauty. The cosmetics provided a wide range of beauty products, such as the anti-aging cream and sunscreens that people used to keep their skin young and undamaged.

The introduction of sewing machines changed the fashion industry in various ways. In old-fashioned era, stitching of fabric was done by thread and needle. Dressmaking process became easier after the invention of the machine. The fashion industry greatly developed and benefited from dressmaking, which allowed this sector to conveniently produce items at a large scale, such as bags, shoes, sofa sets, travel kits, and car seats. The sewing machine has also assisted the fashion world to realize mass productions of clothing lines with sophisticated styles. The new ready-to-wear is a type of clothing with standard sizes that fit many people. Unlike other fashions that require advanced technology, manufacturers employ standard factory equipment and faster techniques in their production. Ready-to-wear can also be considered clothing since they are cheaper, hence making it affordable to everyone. On the other hand, fashion is labour intensive since producers seek to meet the consumers demand while keeping up with the ongoing fashion trends.
