Answer
Philippians
Paul wrote the Philippians’ book in prison, after his arrest for preaching the Gospel and at a time when he was anticipating his release. The book is actually a thank-you letter in which Paul expresses his gratitude to the Philippi Christians for supporting him while in prison (Melick, 1991). He expresses his joy for having had the opportunity to advance the Gospel while in prison (Bauer et al., 1957) and encourages the Philippians to keep growing spiritually. He says that being thankful is a virtue that all Christians should embrace, and exhorts the Philippians to develop an attitude of thanksgiving in their lives.
