Further clarification and explanation of critical literature review
A literature review is not an essay. Your task is not to tell a story, explain procedures or ideas, but to give an umbrella view over a range of literature resources
It needs to be comprehensive, with a mix of core texts, journal articles, internet and contemporary news views.
You are analysing one of the above questions using a range of sources you are not just giving a description of the subject using a range of sources
Your review might make points or develop an argument, but these are always based on the literature, and references must be given throughout. An essay full of your own opinions is inadequate
A literature has a beginning, middle and an end: an introduction setting out its purpose and scope, a main discussion of themes and trends in the literature, discussing one of the questions a summary which gives a view about the subject or offers a theory based on trends you observe.
Use recent journal articles
You must use at least 4 different sources or references and you should use a mixture of sources:
Core texts, additional texts, articles, journals, websites, as well as
other sources
your introduction should clearly state and reference the literature articles that you are analysing
