1. Discuss why the study of leadership is important to you and how you hope to use this experience. (You may include any relevant leadership roles you have assumed to relate to your mission).
2. Share with the class, your own definition of leadership. What are the important characteristics, and what do you think makes a good leader? How do you think a leader differs from a manger? Be sure to integrate material from this weeks readings and other literature as appropriate.
3. Identify a situation in your own work environment that necessitates the use of leadership skills and competencies. Discuss the description of the situation, the key players, and any intended outcomes associated with the situation. This will be your own case study to be used through this class.
