project paper or issue paper

Term Paper Guidelines and Grading Guide

Overview

The goal of this final paper is to apply the knowledge of project management acquired in the course to conduct an in-depth study of a real-life project, or an issue related to project management, or an application of project management concepts to real-life projects. The Term Paper can be any of two types: Project Paper, or Issue Paper. You should make a selection and submit your choice and a brief rationale for the choice

In Module Ten, you will submit the paper to your instructor.

Main Elements

The main body of the term paper (excluding cover page, executive summary, table of contents, appendices, and references) should be between eight to ten pages (WRITER: I DID NOT PURCHASE 8 PAGES SO JUST DO THE AMOUNT OF PAGES I PURCHASED) (12 point Times Roman font with 1.5 line spacing). In Week 10, submit your term paper to the instructor.

Project Paper (In-depth study of a real-life project)

Select a real-life project you may be interested in. Use key words appropriate to the selected project to search the Internet and the Shapiro Library Business Source Complete articles data base. Critically review the information that you found about the project. Write the paper in your own words. If you copy and paste any quotes from the search results, make sure to put those in quotation marks and provide reference. Add your own critical remarks all through the paper.

Write about different aspects of project management related to the selected project. A possible format to present information about the project is to follow the steps of the project life cycle. You must put the information in the context of what you have learned about project management in this course. Simply providing descriptive information about the project without discussing the management aspects of the project would not be sufficient.

Issue Paper (In-depth study of an issue related to project management)   (WRITER: I PREFER YOU WRITE THE ISSUE PAPER)

The Issue Paper would be on an issue related to project management such as “How the practice of project management in Europe differs from the US,” “Challenges in Managing Virtual Projects,” and “Dealing with Corruption in International Projects.” Since the idea is not to repeat what is already in the textbook, pick a topic that goes beyond what is covered in the textbook. Make sure that you include as many real-life project examples as possible while discussing the issue you selected. Also, include your own analysis of the issue and comments.

about project management. Write the paper in your own words. If you copy and paste any quotes from the material, make sure to put those in quotation marks and provide reference. Add your own critical remarks to the paper.

NOTE: Write about different aspects of project management related to the selected project. A possible format to present information about the project is to follow the steps of the project life cycle. You must put the information in the context of what you have learned about project management in this course. Simply providing descriptive information about the project without discussing the management aspects of the project would be inadequate.
