1. Your interpretive essay will be based on at least three primary sources. They must be effectively introduced and evaluated for reliability.

2. Your interpretive essay will be based on at least three primary sources. They must be effectively introduced and evaluated for reliability.
3. You may choose to use them to address one of the following topics
i. The replacement of the universal Christian community in Europe by territorialized confessions.
ii. The growing domination of Churches by secular authorities.
iii. The role of religious reform in the de-sacralization of monarchies or the disenchantment of the world.
4. You should make use of McCulloch and my lectures as appropriate.
5. The thesis you choose should appear in the introduction of your essay. You essay should have a related title.
6. Your essay should emphasize showing rather than telling.
7. In your well written essay you must introduce the topic and indicate why it may be important for understanding the history of the Reformation.
8. You will cite your sources not just for quotations but for all borrowings.
Your essay will be 1000-1500 words (4-6 pages
