UNIT: Investigating Travel and Tourism
ASSIGNMENT
Individual 10 minute presentation:
Deliver a 10 minute power-point presentation (minimum 6 slides plus a bibliography) to demonstrate your knowledge of two (2) Travel and Tourism Organisations.
For this assignment you are required to explain the roles of two different types of Travel and Tourism Organisation.
Before you start, ensure that you have agreed with your subject tutor which two organisations you will be presenting. It is likely that the organisations you select will be from differing components of the Travel and Tourism Industry.
Structure you presentation logically with an introduction, main body of the presentation and conclusion.
It is vital you use a range of suitable academic and trade information sources to carry out your research and provide in text references on your slides and a bibliography (as a separate slide) in the Harvard style.
Explain the roles of two different types of Travel and Tourism Organisation. Analyse their responses to current trends and factors.
As a minimum you should cover the following points for each of the organisations.
• Where do the chosen organisations sit in the structure of the travel and tourism industry? Refer to the “chain of distributionâ€.
• What products or services do they provide and to whom?
• How many people do they employ and what is the annual turnover?
• What is the history and possible future development of the organisations?
All students should prepare and submit a ring bound hard copy of their presentation to the lecturer at the start of the presentation with any additional handouts included. Please ensure that these four assessment sheets are included at the front of the submission.
