One is considered more “top down†in that public health professionals make the key decisions, and one is more “bottom up†because community stakeholders make the key decisions regarding health programs that will affect them directly.

Think about which of the organizations featured in the media used a health-planning approach and which used a community development approach. Which steps/procedures should you follow to select the most appropriate approach for your community health assessment and why?
